(Feb. 2, 2002)------
Picabo Street has raced through a career marked by great joy and success, tempered by pain and recuperation.
She is on the up swing now, heading into to her third Olympics.
Unfortunuatly it looks as if she won't be able to defend her Olympic Super G gold medal. She failed to qualify for the Super G based on her poor World Cup showing in that event.
She will, however, compete in the downhill.
And theoretically, since she is a part of the U.S. team.. Picabo can still compete in the Olympic Super-G event, but only if the coaches enter her in that race, when the official entries are announced a day or two before the competition.
Picabo has said she plans to retire after the games.
