Ann Battelle: Moguls Veteran Three time Olympian and two time World Cup Chamption Ann Battelle seems to defy the bodily abuse that comes from Moguls. (Dec. 29, 2001)------ This veteran of the bumps has survived ten years on the American Freestyle team and multiple injuries, including a shoulder injury last season. In spite of all that, she says she has re-discovered how much she enjoys mogul competition. Ann Battelle/Moguls: YEAH THERE'S BAD DAYS AND I CAN'T LAND THAT AIR, AND THINGS HAPPEN. BUT I HAVE TO BE OUT THERE BECAUSE I LOVE DOING IT. I CAN'T JUST DO IT BECAUSE I WANT TO WIN A GOLD MEDAL OR I CAN'T JUST DO IT BECAUSE I WANT TO GO TO THE OLYMPICS. IT HAS TO BE, I'M DOING THIS BECAUSE I LOVE DO IT. Another big change in Batelle's life: she got married last year. Now the world traveller has turned homebody and she says it's added confidence and perspective to her competitive life.
