Women's Bobsled: 85 MPH Ride
Not too much differs between men and women's bobsled. In fact, one thing that's the same-- this sport is harder than it looks!

(Nov. 10, 2001)------The push is the same. The driving is just as critical. And fractions of a second count, down to the hundreths!

Although it may be a difficult sport, and not a lot of women are involved right now, those who are understand that they can do it just as well as the boys can.

Jean Racine/Driver, U.S. Women's Bobsled: "DEFINITELY. I MEAN, I THINK WHEN YOU'RE WATCHING BOBSLED, OR LUGE, OR SKELETON ON TV, IT JUST KIND OF LOOKS LIKE THERE'S THIS PERSON ON A SLED GOING DOWN A HILL. I CAN'T EVEN BEGIN TO EXPLAIN HOW DIFFICULT IT IS TO CONTROL A SLED THAT'S TRAVELING ON THE ICE AT 85 MPH."

85-miles per hour! The women's track record is only about 2 seconds off the men's track record, and women keep narrowing the gap, making this one of the more exciting sports around.
