Use Park and Ride for Closing Ceremonies  Thursday, 2/21/2002 @ 1:59 pm
Closing ceremonies take place on Sunday, February 24. No parking is available at Rice-Eccles Olympic Stadium. Spectators must use the Olympic park and ride shuttle bus system or TRAX to attend the ceremonies.   More >>>
Use Park and Rides for Figure Skating  Thursday, 2/21/2002 @ 1:35 pm
If you’re attending Figure Skating tonight at the Salt Lake Ice Center, plan to use one of the Park-and-Ride lots located throughout the valley. If you’re driving to Salt Lake from the east, plan to use the Sugar House Park or Liberty Park lot, both of which are located just off Interstate 80. Look for the purple signs.
Closing Ceremonies Celebration  Thursday, 2/21/2002 @ 1:33 pm
Good seats are still available for the Olympic Closing Ceremony. The show will feature Gloria Estefan, ‘N Sync and a cast of over a thousand dancers and performers. The ceremony is on Sunday at Rice-Eccles Olympic Stadium. Visit Smith’sTix for tickets.

Curling Causes Traffic in Ogden  Thursday, 2/21/2002 @ 1:13 pm
With just over an hour until Switzerland and Germany play for the gold medal in women’s curling, traffic is starting to slow near the Ice Sheet in Ogden. 46th street is closed so area residents should use Country Hills Drive to Taylor Street instead.
Bud Greenspan Comes to Ogden  Thursday, 2/21/2002 @ 1:12 pm
The world’s most famous Olympic Filmmaker, Bud Greenspan, features excerpts from the official Olympic Films “Visions of Eight” and “16 Days of Glory” tomorrow night at Peery’s Egyptian Theater in Ogden. Show time is 7:30. Tickets are available at the theater in Ogden.
Stroller Storage at Venues  Thursday, 2/21/2002 @ 1:11 pm
For your convenience, stroller storage is available at all venues except at the Ogden Ice Sheet. Coat check facilities, however, are not available at indoor venues.

As part of the Cultural Olympiad, the Utah Museum of Natural History on the University of Utah campus is hosting an exhibition presenting the traditions, social histories and present-day lives of “Utah’s First Nations – the peoples of the Great Basin and the Colorado Plateau.” It’s open daily and tickets are available at the door.

Roads to Avoid Today  Thursday, 2/21/2002 @ 12:47 pm
Many events are taking place today in Summit and Wasatch Counties and will end close to the same time this afternoon. If you don’t have to be in the area avoid traveling on I-80, Highway 224, State Road-248, highway 189 and Highway 40. If you need to get around in Park City, take Park City Transit instead of driving.
Alanis Morissette Performs Downtown Tonight  Thursday, 2/21/2002 @ 12:36 pm
Medals will be awarded tonight for the men's Nordic Combined, Women's hockey, and the men's Giant Slalom. After the ceremonies, Alanis Morissette will perform for the athletes and the downtown crowd. Gates open at 5:30 for ticket holders.

Visit the Switzerland House at 18 West Market in Salt Lake. It’s open to the public.
Women's Cross Country Traffic  Thursday, 2/21/2002 @ 12:15 pm
Start time for the Women’s cross-country relay is 12:30 this afternoon at Soldier Hollow ski area. Expect delays on US 189, especially near the event park and ride lot. No parking is allowed in any other lots or on the roads and pedestrian traffic is not permitted.

Take your kids to meet Kathy Larsen, author of the children’s book, 'Celebrate the Fire Within.' She will be at the Gateway Barnes and Noble on Saturday afternoon at 5.
